Svenska Skolan Auckland
We read, write, play, practice grammar, sing, talk about Swedish events and keep Swedish baking traditions alive, like semlor for Easter and gingerbread for Christmas. We also organise field trips, visits to museums and sporting activities. We are currently an excellent little group, but there is always room for more!

NOTE: only during NZ Primary School terms
To be eligible for participation (directive from Swedish government), at least one parent has to have Swedish citizenship and the student must be turning 6 years old or older during the school year, as well as the Swedish language be spoken in the home to be kept alive.

Swedish books

The Swedish Association have a few boxes of Swedish books that have been donated to the Association. The contents varies, including mostly adult fiction, however we do have some children’s books. We bring them along to most of our events and lay them out on a “book table”. If you find anything you like, a gold coin donation is appreciated!
If you have some unwanted Swedish books, you may bring these to the next event and leave them with us.
